WHERE DO WE BEGIN!?!?! All we can say after day one is wow! If you haven’t read our Day 1 blog (definitely go back and do that and continue to stay with us for more updates), one of our core verses was listed. Isaiah wrote that “…the Lord has anointed me to bring good news…”!
We suppose it would be a good fit to say that we started the morning with breakfast and prayer as a team then headed to ACTS Christian Church for their one-day Women’s Renewal Conference. As we pulled up there were so many smiles and warm hugs to greet us at the door. The people here are so genuine and receptive. We love this church! It truly feels like home and every hug and high five is always refreshing.
As close to 500 beautiful ladies filed in, our four speakers (Ciara, Stefanie, Elizabeth, and Alison) got a chance to love on them before service began. After a powerful time in worship led by the ACTS worship team, Ciara taught on being a BOLD follower of Christ and the power of BOLD prayers. Ladies came to the altar and asked God to fill them with his undeniable confidence.
As they returned to their seats full of a fresh fire from God, Stefanie shared a Word from God about not just why it’s important, but how to be BRAVE in our faith. It was the perfect watering of the seed that God deposited in the first session. Stefanie shared parts of her story that really created a safe space for ladies to be healed by the love of a loving Father. And a loving Father calls his daughter HIS DELIGHT AND JOY….HE CALLS HER BEAUTIFUL! So of course there’s an alliteration happening here…and Elizabeth genuinely shared the Father’s thoughts towards His daughters. She taught on identity, self-worth, and how to uproot lies of the enemy that says we are not BEAUTIFUL!
Unfortunately, so many women have been so torn down by various life experiences or possibly even their own thoughts that they may actually know who they are in Christ, but not have a close-knit bond with Him as they could. And so Alison came to teach on the beauty of renewing our BOND with the Father. She and her husband Chuck invited every single woman to come down and receive a hug from the Cross Point Team on behalf of God. God has an open arm policy and the parable of prodigal son teaches us that no matter where life takes us, His love is waiting to renew the BOND.
We had lunch with the leaders and volunteers of the church. Anyone ever had a samoosa? It’s a popular Indian dish that migrated around the world. If you haven’t…..just do that!
That evening, we were SO BLESSED to spend time ministering at Living Word Church in the local townships. The townships are a very low income area of Midrand which is located on the outskirts of Johannesburg. God moved in such a powerful way tonight. Through testimonies, dancing, worship, sharing of the Gospel, and an invitation, people came with open hearts to receive Jesus. TWENTY SEVEN DECISIONS WERE MADE TO RECEIVE CHRIST!!! Even more people came to the altar asking God to bless them with jobs, open deaf ears, heal physical, mental, and emotional pain and brokenness, heal relationships, and much more. The sweet presence of God was so undeniable. He was such a gentleman and so attentive to every single need as people came to Him. We got to worship even more as one huge family in God. It was heavenly to see the smiles of all cultures and ages come together and dance before the Lord in African tradition as a sign of thanksgiving to the Lord for His wondrous works.
We are overwhelmed by His kindness and grace to give us the privilege of worshipping and ministering to these BOLD, BRAVE, BEAUTIFUL, and BONDED men and women of South Africa!
We don’t know what tomorrow holds, but we do know that we are standing on the Word of the Lord. We are expecting God to reveal Himself in new ways to our team and those we are ministering to. For some that may not know Christ, “the new way” might be a formal introduction through salvation. For some “the new way” might be a prodigal son/daughter moment. For some “the new way” might be a new level of intimacy with the Spirit of God. Whatever it is, we are open and excited to behold Him. Pray for us as we continue to pour. Pray that we overflow. Pray that hearts of stone be turned to hearts of flesh. Pray that every seed would be planted in good soil that produces fruit in its due season. We love you and look forward to sharing more!
Peace + Blessings,
