One of the most amazing things about God is that He loves to shower His children with both His presence and His gifts. So often He does this by answering our prayers in ways that brings glory to His name and joy to our hearts. Today our experience and encounter with God was nothing short of this! Some were met by God at the 8:00 a.m. worship service at ACTS Christian Church-South Campus, where Ps. Sam preached on Love. After hearing what a team member called “one of the best sermons she’s ever heard on love,” five people prayed to receive Jesus Christ into their hearts.
At 10:00 a.m. the entire team returned to Living Word Church for Sunday service. Per usual, God DID NOT disappoint. We were able to join church members and visitors in a full hour of unadulterated, reverential praise and worship. The worshipful, expectant atmosphere, coupled with spontaneous praise dancing ushered in the tangible presence of God. We saw 2 Corinthians 3:17 take form! As the Lord who is the Spirit was present, freedom was claimed. It was a glorious thing to experience and witness. In that moment, we stood as a family of God, many of us with tears in eyes and hands raised, grabbed hold of what was rightfully ours in Christ Jesus. Others simply basked in the healing miracles received the night before. When Alison asked how many people were healed during last night’s service, approximately 44 people stood. One woman who had been deaf, gave glory and praise to God for healing her ears and restoring her hearing. A true testament to the power of Jesus! Soon after, team member Will shared his testimony of God’s redeeming grace and Ciara offered prophetic words of encouragement to the pastor and members of Living Word Church. Ciara’s message of the church’s coming revival, as well as the powerful declaration Will led the men in, were well received. Our time with Living Word Church ended with prayers of blessings, jubilee and celebration! On this day 56 salvations were gained during the altar call! God’s Kingdom became a tad bit larger. The heaven’s rejoiced and we all danced, prayed and praised to show that we too were extremely glad about it!
We ended our day with worship at Kingdom Faith Worship Center. Ps Bill brought forth a powerful teaching entitled, “Breaking Strongholds.” Many were healed and set free, 17 in total. God surely does inhabit the praises of His people, as He joined us in jubilant worship and dance. During this service, God moved powerfully through our team as we prayed for the sick and oppressed and many were healed and set free. Our team prayed for a woman who was afflicted with pain in her back, neck and shoulder Soon after, she proclaimed healing in the name of Jesus. All her pain was gone! Another gentleman who was experiencing excruciating pain in one of his knees was instantly healed by the power of Jesus. Glory be to our God who heals us. One of the many highlights of the evening was when one of our team members, a youth from ACTS Christian Church, joined in on deliverance ministry! Through her prayers and faith, she offered blessings to a woman who was set free from the chains of bondage, sealing her deliverance in Jesus Christ. Now how awesome is that!
It is evident that we are exercising our faith and are working in tandem with God so that His Kingdom is proclaimed in word and demonstrated of power! How blessed we are to be used by God to set His captives free! His presence and love is being felt in Africa in ways that some on our team have never experienced before! It truly is a glorious thing that God is not only doing a work through us to minister to His beloved people in this land, but He is doing a tremendous work in us. We are seeing characteristics of God that is bringing freedom and a deep hunger to know God more!
And listen…We are only on day 3! Our expectations are high. As we share His heart with others, we know and believe that God is going to continue to open our hearts and eyes to His manifold power, character and love. We are eager for the journey. Please pray our strength in the Lord, as we are in it for the long haul; and don’t forget to check back in to read more of how God is moving mightily in South Africa and amongst our team!
