The day began with acoustic style worship led by team member Thomas followed by team devotion led by team leader Alison Lusted. Alison taught the importance of unity and maturity as believers of the Body of Christ and as God’s Ambassadors in South Africa. Not long after worship and devotion team members, Will, Ciara, Elizabeth and Stefani shared visions they each saw with their spiritual sight while in adoration of the King.
Vision 1: “I saw clear bowls placed on the ground in between each team members legs. These bowls were being used to collect the pure worship of each team member. Then I saw Angels gathering the bowls. I sensed they were being taken to The Father.”
Vision 2: “I saw Jesus standing behind all of us with His arms stretched out all around us. I saw His hands a bronze color with incredible strength in each hand. In addition, I also saw a little fire in between us all. Our willful participation are the logs that will increase the fire.”
Vision 3: “I saw Jesus breath on the fire and it was then magnified.”
Vision 4: “I saw Jesus playing Duck Duck Goose with all of us. I then heard him say, “don’t forget you’re all children and children of God.” It was as if all of us were eagerly expecting Jesus to pick us. Don’t forget God wants to play with His children.” Abba Daddy opened the windows of heaven and poured upon us the gifts needed to go forth expecting a Spirit-filled day on purpose.
Our first stop of the day was a fun filled morning at The Cresset House, a home for the intellectually challenged. Once on site, the team was serenaded by a host of residents who displayed incredible poise and determination to make the South African team feel loved and filled with joy. Team member Alexis used her athletic skills and leadership talents to lead us all in an amazing Zumba workout. Team member Sheena assisted Elizabeth in leading the team in distributing all the gifts pre-arraigned for the guests of The Cresset House. Alison led the residents in a recitation of John 3:16, which most of the residents knew by heart. They shouted exuberantly just before praying a prayer of salvation asking Jesus to come into their hearts.
Our second stop of the day was at the Ubuhle Bezwe Orphanage. The children and the team quickly got acquainted and began the afternoon dancing to team member Alexis’s Zumba moves. The children quickly picked up the routine and offered the team their own entertainment. The children sang a few of their favorite Christian songs before team member Thomas lead us all in a glorious chorus up towards heaven. The team fed the children and passed out toys to each child present. Sheena led the children in praying a prayer and salvation and Alexis shared her testimony.
Our third stop and final stop of the day was at the Mercy Shelter for Women in Berea. Here team member Elizabeth shared her personal testimony along with an encouraging word for the women present. She encouraged the women to place the word God in place of the word Love as found in 1 Corinthians 13. Team leader Chuck Lusted then spoke to all the women present in the love language that only a Father can speak. He spoke from a heart full of love for women needing love. He then led all of the men on the team to stand and provide a strong and secure hug to all of the women of the Mercy Shelter.
What a wonderful day serving the community with God’s love. Please pray our strength in the Lord, as we are in it for the long haul; and don’t forget to check back in to read more of how God is moving mightily in South Africa and amongst our team!
