Each day since the team has arrived and been active in South Africa we have experienced an increase in the Joy of the Lord. The joy begins as we sit down early each morning for fellowship and breakfast. It is there that we share a memory, tell a corny joke or express what we are eager to experience throughout the day as we anticipate sharing the love of Jesus Christ to others.
Today, our journey began with a morning visit at Laezonia Primary School. There, the team joined Trevor Sampson in leading 1200 children and staff members in public praise of The King. Though there were more children than members of our team, we were unified in one voice as we all clapped, raised our voices and proclaimed Jesus is Lord! Team member Will gave an encouraging word about Fatherhood to all of the children present then several children from the Acts of Love leadership team read a scripture to the children with a word of encouragement. Team member Thomas led all 1200 children and school staff in a prayer of salvation and Sheena closed with a celebration of declarations!
Team member Alexis led all 1200 children in an upbeat choreographed Zumba dance which surely got the children moving with excitement.
From there, some of the team took a much needed break to rest at the African Footprints Lodge while the others visited the Mall of Africa.
The team returned to have a wonderful celebratory dinner with the Acts of Love leadership team. There, we all fellowshipped while eating homemade pizza's along with delicious authentic South African deserts. The evening began with fellowship and food then transitioned to what can only be described as an army of worshippers lifting up the name of Jesus. Team member Thomas and an Acts Christian Church member led us in glorious worship that truly ushered everyone into a holy atmosphere of adoration. The evening continued as we stood to pray one-on-one with the Acts of Love leadership team. This evening became a powerful prophetic night as Holy Spirit moved intentionally and gently throughout the entire sanctuary.
Overall, day 7 refreshed each member with the tangible presence of the Joy of the Lord. We know with certainty that we are living witnesses of how heaven will one day be with people of all walks of life and ethnicities worshipping collectively and loving purely. Today was a most wonderful and joyful day!
