We woke with hearts full from our time with the young ladies of the Miriam Makeba Girls Home last night. The men on our team allowed theirs to be wide open to the presence of God at the Acts Christian Church men’s prayer meeting, while the women shared amongst each other over breakfast. Whether in the sanctuary amongst 300 plus men, or around a beautiful wooden table in the dining hall, simple gratitude was expressed. The Kingdom of God had become so visible to many of us. It was a sight of inclusion, of a family of God, empowered and equipped by the Holy Spirit to love, encourage, exhort, testify, loose, release, decree and declare the blessings and the freedom of God, found in Jesus Christ, over ourselves and others! What power there is in the Church of Jesus Christ and how awesome it is that many have been added to its number daily!
It was with this sense of being a part of God’s family that our team went to the Lion Park for a day of fellowship, shopping and exploration. There, the brilliance and magnificence of God was on full display. The animals (giraffe, lions, ostrich, zebras, and impalas) boasted of God’s creative power, sending many of us into a place of awe and adoration of the One who made all things!
Our time together culminated with a farewell dinner. The leaders of Acts Christian Church prepared a delicious feast for us all. We ate, laughed, encouraged one another, prayed, and blessed each other as we recounted the amazing work God has done through us and for us while on this trip. From our first team meeting God let us know that we had been hand picked, each one of us hand selected by Him, to travel to South Africa to share and encounter His love and transformative power together. What a time it has been! Hard to believe we fly home tomorrow. There is not even a shadow of doubt that we each will take what God has allowed to blossom in our hearts back to the states to continue to carry out God’s love on those we encounter, those whom God sends us! As we stood this evening to begin our farewells, we continue to humbly say, “Yes Lord, We Will Go”!
Peace + Blessings,
